The Luxembourg American Chamber of Commerce in the United States will bestow its 2008 Luxembourg American Business Award upon DELPHI.
The biannual Award signifies a special and longstanding relationship between an American corporation and Luxembourg. The Award will be presented on October 22, 2008 , at a black tie dinner in New York, Gotham Hall, presided over by H.R.H. the Crown Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg and Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Mr. Jeannot Krecké.

Delphi’s Luxembourg Customer Technology Center houses the European headquarters for Delphi Corporation and its Thermal and Electrical/Electronic Architecture divisions. In addition, the Luxembourg facility serves as the global headquarters for Delphi’s Powertrain Systems division. Delphi established its presence in Luxembourg in 1971.

In Luxembourg, a diverse Delphi workforce of more than 700 employees from 26 nationalities service customers around the world in their native languages. Delphi personnel encompass all functional staffs including engineering, human resources, purchasing, quality, finance, customs, tax, sales and marketing. At the Thermal and Powertrain divisions, more than 500 world-class technical employees are focused on research and development providing customers with innovative solutions -- safe-green-connected products like next-generation powertrain products, energy-efficient heating and cooling thermal solutions and much more. The products developed in Luxembourg, are helping automakers reduce the impact of the automobile on the environment by reducing fuel consumption, improving CO2 emissions, and providing environmentally friendly air conditioning systems.

Delphi selected Luxembourg for a number of compelling reasons, among them being the significant ongoing engineering activity in Luxembourg combined with numerous advantages in terms of cultural diversity, pro business government, quality of life, central location, commercial neutrality to automotive customers and a favorable business climate.
Delphi Corporation, headquartered in Troy, Mich., is a leading global supplier of mobile electronics and transportation systems, including powertrain, safety, thermal, and controls & security systems, electrical/electronic architecture and in-car entertainment technologies.
